Delete your account and data
At Bits (operated by Fea Card Limited) you can request deletion of your account and the personal data we hold about you at any time. This page explains how to make the request, what we delete, and what we are legally required to keep.
You do not need to have the app installed to submit a request.
Request deletion
Complete the form below — no login or app required.
We will acknowledge your request within 5 business days and complete it within 30 days. If we need to verify your identity first, we may contact you using the details we hold for your account. Where we are required to retain certain records, we will tell you what has been deleted and what has been retained.
You can also delete your account from within the app via your account settings, but emailing the address above is the method that does not require the app.
What we delete
When you request deletion, we remove the personal data associated with your account that we are not legally required to keep, including:
- Your account profile and login credentials — name, date of birth, address, email, mobile number, username and password
- Your marketing preferences and any marketing consents
- Technical and usage data linked to your account, such as device information and in-app activity, except where needed for the limited purposes below
If you no longer wish to receive marketing, you can withdraw that consent separately at any time without deleting your account, by emailing hello@getbits.app or using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
What we may need to keep
Because Bits is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and provides credit-related services, we are legally required to retain some information even after your account is closed. This may include:
- Records we must keep to meet legal, regulatory, tax, accounting and reporting obligations
- Information shared with or held by credit reference agencies (Experian, Equifax and TransUnion). Once data has been reported to a CRA it forms part of your credit file under their own retention rules — deleting your Bits account does not remove it. To access or correct that data, contact the agency directly.
- Information processed for fraud and money-laundering prevention, including data shared with CIFAS, retained under that scheme's own rules
- A limited amount of data needed to establish, exercise or defend legal claims
We keep this information only for as long as we are required to, and then delete it or fully anonymise it. For more detail on our retention approach, see Section 9 (“How long we hold your data”) of our Privacy Policy.
Your other data rights
Deletion (erasure) is one of several rights you have under UK GDPR. You also have the right to access, correct, restrict or object to our use of your data, and the right to data portability. To exercise any of these, email hello@getbits.app. You can find full details in Section 10 (“Your rights”) of our Privacy Policy.
Requesting data deletion is separate from closing or cancelling your account. For general help, visit our Support page.
